Counseling Practice

Christie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Youth Mental Health Specialist (CYMHS), and a summa cum laude graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is the author of THRIVE: A Guide to Individual and Collective Well-Being (2018), a comprehensive curriculum adopted by several American colleges and universities and featured in the U.S. News & World Report's Best College Guidebook (2019) as a program successfully equipping students with skills to proactively prevent health and wellness crises. In her counseling practice and curriculum, Christie specializes in organizing complex, abstract challenges into clear and productive solutions. She utilizes a strengths-based approach to focus on augmenting client awareness, insight, and action to help them solve problems, build resilience, and feel in control of their own well-being and potential. With astute perception and articulation skills and the ability to reveal and inspire significant hope, Christie values confidentiality and establishing strong relationships with her clients in a safe and welcoming environment, accommodating client needs and preferences in therapy to ensure they find counseling to be a rewarding experience.
